Theatre

MSU theatre majors perform a play on stage in colorful costumes.

Interested in a theatre major?

The bachelor of arts in theatre is designed for students who want to gain experience in all areas of theatre and the broader cultural sector. The bachelor of fine arts in theatre (acting and design) is designed for students who would like to prepare for a professional career in theatre — admission is by audition and portfolio review.

The theatre major provides opportunities for students to perform in all aspects of art as an expansive and social outlet. It is the intent of the majors to provoke and sustain interest in theatre as a source of truth and insight into the human condition, to preserve and investigate further historical traditions, and to present new plays that reflect the present condition of society.
