Statistics

A stylized illustration of equations, formulas and graphs, representing a statistics major.

A statistics major prepares students for careers in the modern, data-driven world. The program provides a solid background in mathematics and programming and builds upon this background with course work in probability, statistics, computational methods for data science and application of statistics and probability.

A Bachelor of Arts degree in statistics requires a higher level of competency in arts and humanities, while the Bachelor of Science degree in statistics requires greater science proficiency. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree can also choose to complete this major through Lyman Briggs College.
