Premedical

Premedical is not a major or minor at MSU, but rather a preprofessional path that students choose when preparing for a career in graduate-level health professions. These include careers in chiropractic medicine, medicine, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistance, podiatry and other public health careers. 

While majors in the biological sciences tend to be popular, preprofessional students can choose any major. Medical schools do not factor undergraduate majors into admission decisions, so students should ultimately choose an academic path that they will enjoy and excel in. MSU students will work closely with their preprofessional adviser at MSU to complete any prerequisite courses required by their chosen health profession. 

MSU is a top feeder college for osteopathic medicine programs, and applicants from MSU have a strong track record of entry into medical schools and other health professional schools.
