Global History

A history major holds a black-and-white photo of JFK speaking at a podium in front of a modern-day building.

Majoring in Global History allows students to concentrate on a country or region outside the United States. Throughout the course of this major you will develop considerable expertise in that area through in-depth study with the opportunity to complete a relevant minor and learn a relevant language.

This major is ideal for anyone who wants to pursue a graduate degree in Latin American, Middle Eastern, European, Asian, Ancient Mediterranean, or African History; or in Classical Studies. It is appropriate for those who plan to work for an NGO, humanitarian organization or the State Department. It is also very fitting for launching students into careers in international development, law and business.
